Happy Summer Solstice

Just as children in our country get out of school, we are thrilled to announce that we are launching a new program to send kids in Africa back to school! An outcome of the AIDS orphan crisis in Africa has been that very few children who are HIV ever attend school. This has multiple immediate and long-term outcomes that impact the lives of these children drastically. Power of Love has joined hands with the Granny Connection (based in Columbus, Indiana) to send all school-going children in our program back to school!

Last month, 35 children in the program received school supplies (shoes or bags), uniforms and school fees and were readmitted to their schools. It was a very touching event as most parents had given up on their child ever starting school.  The children were all smiles as they tried on their uniforms and one child in the audience shouted "may God bless you". Thank you "American grannies".  

We can conquer the AIDS pandemic now. Never doubt that. We are working hard to raise funds for our 2009/10 programs. Please keep Power of Love in mind (www.poweroflove.org) as you make your charitable contributions.
