Clean Cooking Stoves
This mission of this innovative program is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable families by improving their health. This will be achieved by the provision of clean cooking stoves that will lead to an improvement in health and reduce expenses on fuel resulting in a better quality of life.
Over the last four winter months in Zambia, 1000 clean cooking stoves were provided to vulnerable families. Family members love their new stoves as the stoves keep them warm, cook food faster, and save money on fuel. These stoves are built using patented air regulation, technology, minimize CO, PM, and greenhuse gas emissions leading to better health, savings, climate change mitigation, and everyday convenience. In the next few months, with reduced smoke inhalation, we expect to see a significant improvement in the health of families. Further, we are encouraging families to use these stoves to generate an income by cooking food to sell.
This project was launched in April 2020. To date, 1,000 clean cooking stoves and education on propoer use was provided to vulnerable families living in impoverished neighborhoods in Zambia.
Our plan is to provide 10,000 clean cooking stoves in the next six months. This will benefit more than 50,000 family members as the average household size is five members. In 2021, we plan to provide an additional 10,000 clean cooking stoves.
