Women & Children's Health
Dear Friend: Wishing that 2021 is filled with good health and happiness for you and your family. This year could be a turning point in ending AIDS if a vaccine for HIV become available.
Dear Friend: Happy holidays! Looking back 2020 has been a tough year.
Dear Friend: Happy World AIDS Day! Every year, December 1 is designated to support adults and children living with HIV, and to pledge to continue the fight against HIV and AIDS. We believe that together we can end AIDS. In Zambia, only 59% of all people living with HIV have undetectable viral loads; this number must be increased to 75% for the epidemic to end.
New “Safe Park” format: “Safe Park” was designed for the children from the community to learn and play in a safe environment. Last April, regular program activities were replaced by COVID education workshops for children. These workshops are free and open to all children from the community. Since most families in the community had little knowledge about COVID, education was provided.
Impact of COVID: The COVID virus has had a disproportionately higher impact on vulnerable populations and developing countries. According to Bill Gates, this year we are amid “mutually exacerbating catastrophes”. In public health, we have been setback by 25 years, as people are not seeking health care and receiving life-saving services such as vaccinations.
With your support, all 450 HIV+ orphans and vulnerable children under our care are stable in health and attending school.
Dear Friend: Happy November. Your generous support has resulted in a marked improvement in the health and income stability of thousands of vulnerable families.
Dear Friend: Happy November! Thank you for your generosity. Our campaign has been fully funded, and all donations will be matched by our partner, One Day's Wages. Funds raised will provide life saving health care services, food, and medicines to 450 HIV+ orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia.
