Dr. Sugata Das

Born in a Bengali family, Sugata Das grew up as the oldest of 4 siblings in Pune on the western coast of India. He distinguished himself academically in high school and graduated with a medical degree from the University of Pune. He advanced his medical career with postgraduate training in cardiology and held positions as a faculty cardiologist at premier cardiac institutes in Pune.
He met his wife, Sujata Guharoy, who distinguished herself as a scientist, with a PhD from Tata Cancer institute, Mumbai, India and subsequently as a post doctoral fellow at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel.Simultaneous academic and professional advancements were main reasons to migrate to USA, where both Sugata and Sujata worked as cardiology and post doctoral fellows at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
In 2004, Sugata Das relocated to Yuma, Arizona as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and established a cardiovascular practice. Considered by both patients and peers as a reputable cardiologist, Sugata Das devotes his time caring for the cardiovascular needs of a large population in the desert southwest.
In 2010, a fortuitous incident sparked an interest in general aviation. As an instrument rated pilot with a multiengine rating, Sugata Das is owner pilot of a twin Cessna 340 as well as an RV9A, which he flies between Yuma and San Diego, his family home. Sugata and Sujata are doting parents to boys, ages 12 and eight.
