Dear Friend: Happy July! Our teams in San Diego and in Lusaka are working to eradicate malaria in Zambia. Malaria, which is both preventable and curable, is still a public health challenge as 88% of the Zambian population is at risk. Malaria could be fatal for children under five years of age as their immune systems are not yet fully developed. Prevention is critical but less than 60% of young children sleep under a net. To keep children malaria free, we provided 5,000 mosquito bed nets and education to families who cannot afford nets.
Our goal is to provide an additional 5,000-6,000 nets in 2019, so we can continue the fight against malaria. Your donation of $10 will provide two nets that can prevent malaria for a family of two adults and four young children. Every dollar counts and helps keep orphans and vulnerable children malaria free. As always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
