Looking back, 2024 was a year that made the communities we serve stronger and better equipped to navigate problems in the areas of health, education and income generation. All children enrolled in our pediatric HIV care program improved in health and all school age children are attending school. In addition, last September we launched a program for children that teaches them computer skills. More details on this new initiative are given below.

Computer Lab in Matero compound, Lusaka, Zambia: First 12 Weeks

• High Demand: The lab has attracted more users than anticipated, often leading to long wait times. Notably, a substantial portion of the users are girls.
• Skill Development: Users are quickly learning to navigate various software applications, with some beginning to teach others.
• Challenges: Unpredictable and prolonged power outages remain a significant challenge. Abraham, who lives within the community, stays vigilant to charge the laptops whenever power is available, ensuring minimal disruption to the lab’s activities.

Looking Ahead, our plan is to:

• Open the lab to women, offering them entrepreneurial training and support for their small businesses.
• Strengthen partnerships with local organizations, including churches and schools.
• Expand the curriculum to better align with local school programs and needs.
