April 2018 - New Malaria vaccine to be tested this year
Dear Power of Love Friend: Happy Spring! We have some wonderful news to share about malaria prevention: a promising new vaccine for malaria will be tested in three African countries in 2018. According to Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, World Health Organization's regional director for Africa, "Combined with existing malaria interventions, such a vaccine would have the potential to save tens of thousands of lives in Africa". Until the vaccine is approved, however, sleeping under a mosquito net is the most effective and cheapest methods of preventing malaria (in accordance with WHO guidelines).
Please help us raise funds to provide 6000 mosquito bed nets before the next malaria season, so we can keep 24,000 children or 12,000 adults malaria free. Your donation of $10 will provide two nets that can prevent malaria for a family of two adults and four young children. Every dollar counts and helps keep orphans and vulnerable children malaria free. As always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
