Achievements of our Safe Parks Program in 2013/2014
“Safe Parks” is a program that is free and open to all children in the community that addresses some of the challenges faced by children living in the Matero compound in Lusaka, Zambia. The Matero compound is one of the largest and poorest compounds in Lusaka, Zambia, with an unemployment rate upwards of 65% and a high incidence of HIV and AIDS and malaria.
Impact of POL's Microloan Program in 2013
Power of Love’s micro loans program now has 240 women enrolled and the majority of them are running successful businesses. The businesses chosen by the women are quite diverse and range from groceries (mealie meal - a Zambian staple, cooking oil, rice, sugar, eggs, fruits, vegetables, and beans), to dressed chicken, dried fish, charcoal, baby blankets, books, restaurant, and a salon etc.
Impact of Project Mosquito Net in 2013
Power of Love's Project Mosquito Nets program provides long lasting insecticide treated bed nets and education on malaria prevention to women and children in Zambia. At the last distribution in September 2013, 1000 long lasting insecticide treated nets were distributed to 920 families.

Power of Love's pediatric HIV care program continues to improve the lives of several hundred children and families impacted by HIV, AIDS, and malaria in Zambia. The vision behind this program is to strengthen women and grandmothers so they can take care of their children and sick family members at home.
Malaria Prevention Day 2013
Power of Love Foundation’s (POL) Project Mosquito Nets program provides long lasting insecticide treated bed nets to women and children vulnerable to malaria in Zambia. We would like to say a big “thank you” to you for supporting this program. With your support, we were able to provide 1000 insecticide treated nets to women and children vulnerable to malaria in Zambia in September 2013.
What Makes Our Pediatric HIV Care Program Unique?
While developing our pediatric HIV care program in 2004, one thing we repeatedly asked ourselves was how we could make an impact beyond simple handouts. We wanted our program to do more than provide food and medicine to HIV positive children, services provided by countless charities.

Some Games We Play with the Zambian Children at Safe Parks
Every Saturday afternoon, Power of Love's staff gathers together to play games and help children with homework in Lusaka, Zambia. This afternoon activity is only one of the several pieces of our pediatric HIV care program and is open to all children in the community of Matero, in Lusaka, Zambia.
