February 2025 - Urgent Update: Protecting Our Patients' Access to Life-Saving Care

Dear friend: Happy February!

Recent changes in U.S. foreign aid policy have created an urgent crisis for our HIV and AIDS programs in Zambia. With antiretroviral medication deliveries suspended, 500 children and their families are at risk, and our PEPFAR/USAID grant funding for HIV prevention and pediatric HIV care programs has been suspended.

We are taking swift action by:

  • Securing emergency ARV medications from India to ensure uninterrupted treatment.
  • Coordinating with Zambian health authorities at the national level.
  • Our dedicated team is working around the clock to prevent any gaps in patient care. While we have short-term solutions in place, we are developing strategies for long-term sustainability.

How you can help:

  • Advocate with congressional representatives and the White House to protect HIV medication access from disruption.
  • Share this information with others passionate about global health.
  • We are financially okay for now, but if you wish to donate, 100% of contributions continue to go directly to patient care.

We remain committed to our mission and will keep you updated as the situation evolves.

With determination and hope,

Your friends at Power of Love
