The holiday season is here and we have much to celebrate. With your support, the computer lab, launched in the Matero slum in Zambia, has been running successfully for the past two months. The lab provides structured classes and on-the-spot user support to school-age children and young adults. Here is what we have learned so far:

Is malaria a problem? Malaria continues to be a deadly disease for children and vulnerable adults in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2022, malaria claimed 608,000 lives globally (6% higher than pre-COVID), with Sub-Saharan Africa accounting for 94% of malaria cases and deaths.
“Safe Park”, is a community outreach program that promotes the physical/mental development, and healing of children by utilizing research and evidence-based interventions implemented by health workers trained in trauma management. This program is open to all children from the community and its goal is to assess children’s behavior and foster learning through educational games and workshops.
